avena began in 1962, in the lavender fields above Shumen, as a small distillery pressing oil from Bulgarian lavender. Six decades later it is still a family of makers in the same town — seven caring brands, carried into more than forty countries, and around fourteen million small moments of care every year.

It started with a still
It started with a handful of people and a still. In 1962, Lavena opened as a lavender-oil distillery in Shumen.

By the 1980s the same hands were making skin care — the first Lavena cosmetics left Shumen.
